2014 Favourites

So today i've sat down and had a think about the products that i have started using this year and that i have loved through out the year. I don't stick to the same skincare or hair products so they won't be involved but i will cover all of the make up products i have been using throughout the year. So lets start with base make up:

The primer i have stuck with all year and have bought multiple tubes of it is The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. I doesn't help your make-up last much longer but it helps to hide pores and it does mattify the skin which i need in my T-Zone, which is the only area i use primer, because that is where i get oily. It is £7.50 which i think is reasonable and i have enjoyed using it.

Next i put on a little bit of concealer and i have been loving the L'Oreal True Match Concealer in the shade 02 Vanilla. It is not as dying as the collection lasting perfection concealer and it still has good coverage. The only problem is the shade range because they only have 4 different colours but this is great for under the eyes and covering up spots. Here is a link to the post i did earlier in the year comparing it to the collection concealer (Battle of the Concealers).

This year has seen many different foundations but the one that i have used the most of is the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC15. It combines everything i like about a foundation; coverage, dewy but not too dewy and it is long lasting. I have been using this since the summer and i really like it. Once again i did a post about this foundation were you can read all about it in more depth (MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation)

My favourite powder will always be the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent, i imagine this will be the same next year. This powder is cheap and it helps your make up last longer. It doesn't cake on the skin and is just an all round good powder. I have tried other ones this year and they work just the same and are more expensive so i think i will stick to this one.

For contouring i have always used the Sleek Contouring Kit, just for the contour shade rather than the highlighter. The shade is quite orangey but it just adds a bit of definition to my face which i definitely need and also adds a bit of colour once i have taken it all away with my other base products. I don't think i have ever spoken about this product before and that is because i use it everyday but it doesn't completely wow me. It gets a mention though because i do use it everyday but hopefully i will find a product to replace this one in 2015.

The final base product is blusher and my favourite blusher this year would definitely be the L'Oreal True Match Blusher in 125 Nude Rose. I wrote a little bit more about it here (L'Oreal True Match Blush) Basically this blush is perfect for a bold eye or a bold lip, it doesn't take away from the look and does make it look over the top. It is just a very natural looking blush and adds a little bit of colour to your cheeks.

Eye Make Up

So lets start with brows because they are kind of part of the eye make up and they are what i do next when i do my make-up in the morning. This year i have been using the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil Brow Tint and Pencil. It is one of the easiest products to use for your brows and i have another one lined up for when this one runs out. This wasn't meant to be an advert for the other posts i have written but because these are my favourite products i have written about a lot of them so here is the post about the Soap and Glory brow products. (What Do You Use For Your Brows?)

I think the next one is pretty obvious and i can't link you to a post because i have written about this so many times but the stand out eye shadow for me is my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I absolutely love this palette and it is one of the best purchases i have ever made. You can achieve so many make up looks using it and it has the best range of colours which can be used at any time of year.

My top liquid eye liner is the L'Oreal Super Liner, i have used multiple eye liners this year because they always dry out quickly and this one has been my favourite as it creates a super thin line, its very easy to use and it lasts a long time on the eye.

Mascara is always a tricky one and i haven't really got a favourite as i am still trying to find one that works well for me but the only one i have ever been complemented on is the Benefit They're Real Mascara a woman in a coffee shop asked me what mascara i used because it made my lashes look amazing and it was thing one but as i said when i reviewed it, it still leaves black rings around my eyes so really i want a new one in 2015. (The Best Mascara Ever?)

My favourite Kohl liner would definitely be MAC Teddy Kohl Liner, it is the perfect bronze line, it is lovely and creamy when it is applied but stays put all day. It is the most gorgeous bronze that really looks good with Hazel eyes. I had my make up done in MAC and they used this liner and it was the only product i bought that day and i don't regret it.

Lips

Now this is where it gets hard because lip products is what i change the most and what i have the most of but i think i will go with the lip product i wear the most which would be MAC Creme Cup. Earlier in the year i professed my love for this lipstick (My Lipstick Love) and it has remained a constant presence on my lips and in my hand bag. I could name lots more lip products i have been loving but i think i will stick to the one or we could be here for a long time.

I hope you have enjoyed going through my favourite make up for the year and i look forward to more posts about new products this year. Have an amazing New Year....
