I really tried not to go crazy over Black Friday since I am a bit tight on money, but after seeing a few items I have been eyeing, having $33 worth of points from Ulta, and them having free shipping over $35 during Black Friday, I knew I had to splurge a bit. I realize that this is overdue, but that's because Ulta does take a while delivering, and for some really, really weird reason, they decided to ship the LORAC lipgloss separately. Seriously, it was one tiny lipgloss filled with bubble wrap in a huge box. Really now, Ulta?

I got the NYX Eyeshadow Base (White) because I wanted to give some vibrancy to my eyeshadows, and it did deliver. I noticed how much the colors came alive on my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette when I wore it. It does swatch a tad bit darker, but that's because of the overcast lighting, but there's no denying that it appears more pigmented. Here's an example:

Since I have been enjoying NYX matte lipsticks, and purple lipsticks in general, I decided to go ahead and get NYX Matte Lipstick (Aria). I underestimated how bright and punchy this purple would be, but I love it. I've been branching out into purples, since it's definitely one of those shades that are out of my comfort zone. I have also been enjoying NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (Copenhagen).
I wanted to try something new, so I also purchased the LORAC Alter Ego Lip Gloss (Flower Child). It is a pinkish coral shade, beautiful for the spring and summer, but I am still wearing it because it's so comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. I would love to get more of the lip glosses from LORAC such as the shades Show Girl and Dominatrix.

Finally, I've been wanting a curling iron for a while even though I hardly curl it as much as I used to. But I wanted a more expensive type, like the Beachwaver S1, but I did not feel like saving my points up to $129 for it. So instead, I opted for the Bead Head Curlipops 1" Tourmaline Ceramic Styling Iron, which I got on sale for $15 (original price was $30). Since I haven't curled my hair in a long time, I figured this would be a good place to start, especially because it was already reasonably priced to begin with. I also read some pretty good reviews about it. I guess I shouldn't always be in the school of thought that more expensive=better quality. I also like the packaging of this because it's made to look like a lollipop, hence the name "Curlipops".
