[044] TUTORIAL: SIAS Installation

INSTALLATION FILES:

Download the SIAS installation file in 7z format (SIAS_complete.7z) by clicking here.

NOTE:

After unzipping (you can use WinRAR, Winzip, 7zip, or any compression tools that your computer has. Windows has its own compression tool and you can use that too) the SIAS_complete.7z file, there will be 5 files that would show namely:

a. mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.27-win32.msi

b. password.txt

c. setup-sias2.6.42.1 5.exe

d. sias.exe

e. tflls.dll

INSTALLING SIAS

1 . Run/open/double click the mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.27-win32.msi.

2. Choose typical setup

3. Click Next until installation is finished.

4. Open the password.txt and copy the text written.

5. Open setup-sias2.6.42.1 5.exe and paste the text within the password.txt (from #4) when the setup requires a password.

6. Click Next until installation is finished

SETTING UP SIAS

NOTE:

If you only have a Program files folder, no need to do instruction #1.

1. You need to go to your computer's C drive. If you see a Program files (x86) or Program files (x64) within your C drive, open the said folder.

You need to move the entire Digital Software folder that is within the C:\Program files (x86)\Digital Software or C:\Program files (x64)\Digital Software

to the Program files folder (C:\Program files\Digital Software).

2. Copy and replace the sias.exe (sias) and the tflls.dll (tflls) from the uncompressed SIAS_complete.7z file within the C:\Program files\Digital Software\SIAS folder.

3. Open the C:\Program files\Digital Software\SIAS. Right click the sias.exe file then select Send to, and click Desktop (create shortcut).

4. Right click on the sias.exe, select Properties.

5. Click the Compatibility tab.

6. Check the box, 'Run this Program as an Administrator'.

7. Click Apply, OK then close.

CONFIGURING SIAS

There are two applications that you can choose to do this task: 1. If you want to connect your SIAS over the internet (using bitvise), follow this guide. 2. An alternative application similar with bitvise (using Lightning), follow this guide.

I personally recommend lightning since its much simpler and easy to follow.

Choose which of the two is much simpler for you to configure. The difference of the two is that with bitvise, you need to install the application. With lightning, there will be no installations required!

That's it! You have successfully installed the SIAS!
